{"id":5350,"date":"2024-12-03T12:05:02","date_gmt":"2024-12-03T17:05:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nickelodeonparents.com\/?p=5350"},"modified":"2024-12-04T11:49:21","modified_gmt":"2024-12-04T16:49:21","slug":"nick-jr-menorah-craft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nickelodeonparents.com\/nick-jr-menorah-craft\/","title":{"rendered":"Nick Jr. Menorah Craft"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oh Hannukah, oh Hannukah, come light the menorah!<\/p>\n<p>Celebrate this centuries old tradition with your children, with\u00a0the help of Nick Jr. Once you&#8217;ve crafted the menorah, practice the lighting ceremony together with your child using our printable flames.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What You&#8217;ll Need<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>White cardstock<br \/>\nNick Jr. menorah templates\u00a0(print below!)<br \/>\nScissors or crafting knife<br \/>\nDouble-sided tape or a glue stick<br \/>\nBlue paper<br \/>\nWhite glue<br \/>\nGlue dish<br \/>\nRuler<br \/>\nCraft knife<br \/>\nCutting mat<br \/>\nWooden dowels<br \/>\nPaintbrush<br \/>\nPencil<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"button button--print-now\" data-pdf=\"printable-pdf-1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nickelodeonparents.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/nickjr-menorah.pdf\" title=\"Print Now\">Print Now<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Make<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Step One: <\/strong>Make the candlesticks:\u00a0Print candlestick and flame templates\u00a0on white card stock and cut using scissors or a\u00a0crafting knife.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Step Two:\u00a0<\/strong>Apply double sided tape or a glue stick along white tab on one candlestick rectangle and roll to create a tube. Repeat with other 8\u00a0candlesticks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step Three:\u00a0<\/strong>Make the base: Cut out a piece of cardboard and blue\u00a0paper, 13&#215;3&#8243; each. Glue paper to cardboard. Allow to dry.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Step Four:\u00a0<\/strong>With a ruler, find the center of the base, mark with a pencil.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Step Five:\u00a0<\/strong>Pour a quarter size blob of white glue into a small dish. Dip tallest\u00a0tube into the glue, applying glue to bottom edge.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stick tube to center of menorah base.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Repeat with shorter\u00a0tubes, placing four tubes evenly spaced on either\u00a0sides of center tube.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step Six:\u00a0<\/strong>Make the flames:\u00a0Cut 8 dowels to 7&#8243; tall and 1 dowel to 8&#8243; tall.\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using white glue and a paint brush, sandwich one dowel\u00a0between a yellow and orange\u00a0paper flame, centering dowel\u00a0on the yellow flame. Repeat to create 9 flames. Allow to\u00a0dry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Step Seven: <\/strong>Make sure your\u00a0<em>kinderlach <\/em>(children) are with you for this part: Place tallest flame&#8211;the <em>shamash<\/em>&#8211;in the middle candlestick. Then, place\u00a0flames\u00a0into candlesticks\u00a0of Menorah one by one, starting on the right side. Start with a single flame and add one more for each night of Hanukkah. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Chag Sameach<\/em>.
